TVI NY student Marla Yost is making great strides in and out of the classroom. Having just completed an on-camera master class with casting director Pat McCorkle and acting with Playmakers Rep, she will be running a marathon on March 22- in Rome, Italy nonetheless. She is covering 26.2 miles raising money on behalf of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Check out Marla’s amazing story and help her out with her goal here. This weekend TVI was lucky to play host to casting director Ross Meyerson. Ross, casts for Julie Tucker Casting, works on such New York Hits as “Rescue Me“and “Damages“. Their office just began casting the new Edie Falco series “Nurse Jackie.” If you haven’t met Ross yet, you really should check out his intensive.

TVI teacher and longtime “Guiding Light” Casting Director Rob Decina has expanded his talents beyond the casting office. Rob, who holds a MFA in directing from Sarah Lawrence College, is now directing episodes of the long running daytime series. TVI student Sabrina Reitman is currently starring in the classic Jason Robert Brown musical “Songs for a New World” at the Chernuchin Theatre here in NYC. It is the first authorized production in over 10 years since its debut in 1996. Sing out Sabrina!

TVI LA teacher Vinny Guastaferro dropped by our New York studio last Friday to teach. Vinny most recently performed in “Two Unrelated Plays by David Mamet.” As a go to actor of many David Mamet projects, students were thrilled to hear his unique take on acting spontaneously and truthfully in their scene work.
