TVI Member Caleb Campbell plays Backup Detective #1 in the crime drama staring Angelina Jolie and directed by the man himself, Clint Eastwood. Inspire by actual events in 1920’s Los Angeles, “The Changeling” tells the story of a woman driven to confront a corrupted LAPD after her abducted son is retrieved and she begins to suspect that the boy returned to her is not the same boy she gave birth to. I saw the movie this past weekend and was excited to see Caleb in his period detective garb. Kudos to you Caleb, nice work.

So the saying goes, “It’s who you know!”. I say it’s not who you know but who knows you, because if a director or producer or casting director is not thinking of you when they are casting then the adage does not apply. So how do you get people to know you when you’re just starting out? Well, you’re doing it, industry workshops, lectures, mailings and networking…you are doing it right?! Okay so here is the challenge: Make a list of the people who would recognize your name if your agent called them or your picture crossed their desk. If you are taking Randy Becker’s class at TVI, he is a film Producer at Acuna Entertainment that you can add to your list. Don’t be discouraged if the list is initially small. These are the people you will keep informed of your bookings, shows, episode airings on a regular basis via postcards, these are your Peeps. Next make a list of people you want to be on your Peeps list. Then meet them at a workshop and put your best foot forward!

TVI alumna Jeannie Sconzo has just booked her 9th Under-5 role on All My Children playing a nurse. She’s bringing her real-life experience to the role, so it’s no wonder her work is so well received. And like a true actorpreneur, Jeannie produced When Beliefs Are Questioned - and stars in this new film.

TVI Members are caught in the act, literally, as they work on their scene for Gossip Girl casting director Daryl Eisenberg at TVI Actors Studio. Daryl partnered up students with sides she brought to class.
Tonight they worked on sides from two girlfriends fighting over a pocket pooch to teachers hitting on their students. All in a days work.
