New Moon’s numbers are about top the $500 Million mark! According to Box Office Mojo, the New Moon numbers are $499,392,782 following this past weekend’s ticket taking. Rob Pattinson’s paycheck is said to include a percentage of that box office as well as a $12 million initial paycheck. TVI Youth Academy Member Brooke Freundlich walks the red carpet at New York premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Emmy nominated casting director Pat McCorkle will be teaching a one day intensive on December 13th at TVI New York. The intensive is for young actors ages 11-17. In Pat’s class students will work on monologues, and on-camera cold reading. Actors will explore the realities of television/film casting as this prominent industry expert covers the entire audition process including the business, etiquette, and politics of the industry. One of the happiest casting directors on Earth (and most professional) is Los Angeles casting director Howard Meltzer, casting director of the popular TV show, “Hannah Montana” who teaches one of the on-going young actors acting classes on Saturday’s at TVI Actors Studio in Los Angeles

In addition to casting “Hannah Montana“, Howard has cast on Broadway: The Graduate, Fortune’s Fool, Gore Vidal’s The Best Man, Elaine May’s Taller Than A Dwarf, Honour, Epic Proportions, Annie Get Your Gun (Revival), Fosse, Chicago (Revival), Annie (Revival), Grease (Revival) Off-Broadway: Things You Shouldn’t Say Past Midnight, Mall America, The Wax, Voir Dire, A Brief History Of White Music.

He won the Casting Directors “Artios Award” for “Best Children’s TV Programming” for Hannah Montana in 2006, shared with Carol Goldwasser.

TVI student Sabrina Reitman is currently starring in the classic Jason Robert Brown musical “Songs for a New World” at the Chernuchin Theatre here in NYC. It is the first authorized production in over 10 years since its debut in 1996. Sing out Sabrina!

Jessica Carlson, TVI Actors Studio member, just completed work on the set of Cirque Du Freak, directed by Paul Weitz. The film is based on a book series for young teens by Darren Shan. The cast includes Salma Hayek, Orlando Jones, Willem Dafoe, and Jane Krakowski. Prior to filming, Jessica appeared in the “Angelgrove” episode of “Law & Order,” directed by Darnell Martin.

Shannon Walsh, a student at TVI Actors Studio, booked the role of Melanie Pratt in the new Wes Craven thriller 25/8, to be released next year. Of course, Mr. Craven is best known for directing A Nightmare on Elm Street among many other hits.

Acting School student from TVI, actor, Heather Nichols, just booked a regional commercial for Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches. So, all you mid-westerners, keep your eyes glued to that television screen.

Heather is represented by Darci Price at Bobby Ball Agency. The Los Angeles casting director for the spot was Joe Blake casting.

According to the Bobby Ball Talent Agency web site, Heathers agent, Darcy Price states , “Growing up in the industry, Ms. Price put her life experiences and her USC education to work for Kuranda Management, known for its most famous client, Penelope Cruz. Subsequently, Darci went off to form her own successful management company where she continued to nurture close relationships with the industry’s top casting directors, television studios, and film executives.
