Congratulations and a hearty ‘break a leg’ to Bill Mootots, who has had quite the season. Bill will be starring in not one, but TWO shows in the Boston area. First off he will be playing Warwick in St- Joan at the Wheelock Family Theatre in Boston, and shortly thereafter will be rounding out the season by appearing in the Hanover Center for The Performing Arts’ production of A Christmas Carol. Looks like that Alaine Aldaffer class helped with something! Ask your consultants about her Theatrical auditioning intensive coming up December 11th.

At 11:00am, you think actors would be asleep. But these go-getters are taking the “Respect for Acting” approach and waking up early. Here Valerie Kingston’s scene study class at TVI Actors Studio focuses on Uta Hagen’s book, Respect for Acting, with sense memory and emotional recall exercises.
What’s the Respect for Acting approach, you ask? Come check out Valerie’s class and you’ll find an in-depth answer to that question. And if you already know about Uta Hagen and her book, then come brush up your skills. Valerie takes you from exercises all the way to costume and props. That old wedding dress could actually come in handy.

Tracey Rooney, not only a TVI teacher/member but also a huge support system for the entire TVI community, just started rehearsals for the play, “The Family of Man”. A Theatre Neo production playing at The Secret Rose Theatre, “The Family of Man” will start performances on October 3rd and will run for 2 months. All we could get out of Tracey is the playing a sitcom writer and it’s all about the horrors of the writer’s room. Congrats, Tracey!

Adam Shonkwiler, TVI New York Member and working actor is having a great year. After coming off the National Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Whistle Down The Wind, he just finished shooting the buzz-heavy feature film The Private Lives of Pippa Lee written and directed by Rebecca Miller and starring Robin Wright Penn. Adam plays opposite it-girl Blake Lively, from Gossip Girl and The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. Next up for Adam is a run in the great Americana musical Big River at the Goodspeed Opera House.
