One hundred plus actor sand Queensland talent agents and casting directors converged at Bond University in Robina, Australia tonight to meet and hear two time Emmy Award winning casting Director Debi Manwiller speak about casting the Hit TV series “24” and about the casting process in Los Aneles.

Special guests that showed up included Lee Donehue from the popular industry newsletter “Quiet on Set“, former American Casting director Tom McSweeney who has been casting the past 12 years in Australia and John Stewart from TAFTA in the Gold Coast,TVI’s Alan S Nusbaum moderated the event this evening.

The Primetime Emmy nominations came out this week and TVI-NY sends out our congratulations to two of New York’s own casting directors, who were nominated for best casting. Comedy - Jennifer McNamara for 30 Rock. Drama – Julie Tucker and Ross Myerson for Damages. Ross Myerson is one of the casting directors who have graced the halls of TVI in our Primetime Audition classes. Other Emmy winners working at TVI are Pat McCorkle (Californication) and Kim Miscia (Mad Men). Kim is currently casting Gossip Girl among others and has a one day intensive on August 29th while Pat teaches her popular master class in Film & TV every month. TVI Actors Studio will be presenting a working in London with New York City Casting Director David Vaccari from Telsey Casting Company in July.

In addition to casting films, TV and Theatre with Bernie Telsey, David is a film producer, continuing to work on his first feature, “Poundcake”, starring Kathleen Quinlan & Jay O.Sanders. t premiered at AFI in November in Los Angeles. “Poundcake” won an Honorable Mention as best feature film at the 40th annual Nashville film festival.

The pinnacle of New York casting directors, Pat McCorkle spent the weekend in London at the “American Casting Director Series” sponsored by TVI Actors Studio. The monthly workshops offers London Actors the opportunity to work wit the finest Film, TV and Theatre casting directors from New York City and Los Angeles.

The UK based actors, many alumni from the Conference of Drama Schools, such as RADA, LAMDA, Mountview, Central among others had the unique opportunity to work with Ms. McCorkle on Film scripts, receiving suggestions and tips to provide a better audition whether the actor was to audition in New York, Los Angeles or London.

Each month, the Acting School, TVI, offers these workshops to qualified actors in the Westend of London.

Ms. McCorkle was able to share her depth of knowledge with the participating actors and auditors that were observing. You can see her TV and Film credits on IMDB, and her Theatre credits on Internet Broadway Database.

Pat McCorkle also teaches several dynamic acting classes exclusively at TVI Actors Studio in New York City.

After many requests TVI Actors Studio has put together a monthly series of hands-on workshops with some of America’s most prominent casting directors from New York and Los Angeles. The London series starts the 23rd of May with New York Casting Director, Pat McCorkle.

The events take place at London’s Actors Centre where Ms. McCorkle has three decades of casting Broadway and West End Theatre, major Feature Films and American TV series.
